The organization was created in an effort to combat the lack of diversity in theatre in the Upstate.  They realized that people from certain backgrounds were underexposed to theatre or overlooked when casting for parts. They wanted to provide a platform for actors both aspiring and seasoned who may not otherwise have an opportunity. Since conception in 2016, Showtime has produced sequential sold out performances. Three stages plays, A Cry Nobody Heard, What Lies Beneath and Collateral Damage, one short film, Young N Love, which earned placement in the Second Act Film Festival, and a web series called, If Truth Be Told. Through Johnny’s co-leadership with Showtime he has created a community initiative called Showtime Shows Up which is an outreach program for under privileged children, as well as he has created a scholarship program which provides a financial award to young deserving and aspiring actors. Johnny also uses his ministry to encourage, inspire and positively influence the youth of the Upstate. His community work includes serving as a motivational speaker, mentor and youth advisor.
